Nicholas Peter Mascagna

Nicholas P. Mascagna, age 88 of 66 Collins St., Bristol, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Mary A. (Garcia) Mascagna. Born in Union City, NJ, he lived in Derby, CT before moving to Bristol 58 years ago, he was a son of the late Rocco and Philomena (Verdicchio) Mascagna. Mr. Mascagna was a Senior Physical Therapist for the State of Rhode Island Division of Workers Compensation for 33 years before retiring in 1980. He was a WW II Navy Veteran anda communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol. He was alife member of the Bristol Knights of Columbus Council #379, and the RI Physical Therapy Society. In addition tohis loving wife of 62 years he is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Ann Teixeira and her husband Tony of Bristol and Mary Ann Salesi and her husband Paul of Portsmouth, a brother, Rocco Mascagna, PHD/Ed, Orange, CT.,Six Grandchildren, Camille, Neal, Alexandria, Candace, Nicole and Justin and five greatgrandchildren. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home 192 Wood St., Bristol, Tuesday, December 23, 2008at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Monday, 4:00-8:00 PM.
