Nicholas J. Castigliego

December 21, 1924 — April 1, 2008

Mr. Nicholas J. Castigliego, age 83, of 58 Collins St., Bristol, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the loving husband of Janet (Turner) Castigliego, his wife of 43 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Gaetano and Anne (Armilotta) Castigliego. Mr. Castigliego was a wire worker for Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp. formerly in Bristol for 34 years before retiring in 1974. He was a communicant of St. Michaels Episcopal Church, Bristol. Colonel Castigliego was a member of the Bristol Train of Artillery for 44 years and he also was a past commander. In addition to his wife, he was a devoted father of, John Castigliego of Riverside, Elizabeth Castigliego of Barrington, Bruce Castigliego, Julie Castigliego and Nicholas J. Castigliego, Jr., all of Bristol, and Cathy Vachon of Smithfield. He was the brother of Mary DAllesio and Nancy Dubord, both of Bristol. He was also survived by five grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Anna Castigliego and Norma Shaw, three sisters, Suzy Arcello, Lucy Scalaro and Paulina Boyd. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Requiem Eucharist Service Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM in St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 399 Hope St., Bristol. Burial will follow in South Burial Ground, Massasoit Ave., Warren. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sansone Funeral Home.
