Ms Linda Marie Varola

Linda Marie Varola, 70, of Bristol passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023 in Bristol. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Gloria (Graves) Varola. Linda worked at the United States Navy Base in Newport for many years. She also worked for the James Maher Center. Linda was an avid Boston sports fan and rarely missed any Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox, or Patriots games. She enjoyed the Special Olympics, participating in swimming, basketball, and bowling. She was also a member of the Camp Stone Tower Baseball team for many years. Linda is survived by her siblings: Paula J. (Varola) Ferreira and Peter J. Varola; her nieces and nephews: Christina M. (Ferreira) Guimar, Christopher Amaral, Kimberly (Amaral) Roy; her great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Linda was also pre-deceased by her siblings James Varola and Nancy (Varola) Amaral, and a nephew, Clifford Ferreira, Jr.. The Visiting Hour will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 9-10 AM. Her funeral service will start from Sansone Funeral Home on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol at 11 AM. Immediately following mass Linda will be laid to rest at St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Special Olympics.
