Ms Elizabeth A. Alves

Miss Elizabeth A. Alves, age 86 of Peck Avenue, Bristol, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Isabele (Silvia) Alves. A tag maker, she worked at Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation in both their Bristol and Portsmouth Plants for 40 years, retiring in 1984. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality at the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary B. (Alves) Byrnes. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Saturday morning only from 9:00-10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, RI Chapter, 1210 Pontiac Avenue, Second Floor, Cranston, RI 02920.
