Barbara J. DiPalma, 78, of Bristol, passed away November 15, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Peter & Victoria (Soldano) DiPalma. A graduate of Rhode Island College, Barbara was a dedicated elementary and special education teacher for more than 35 years. She taught in Portsmouth, RI and Bristol, RI; she was later Head Teacher and a grant writer at Crystal Springs School in Assonet, MA. She also volunteered for many years in local nursing homes and visited residents often with her beloved dog Tedi. Barbara delighted in family celebrations and holidays of all kinds including, of course, the Fourth of July. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening and feeding the birds. She was known as "Auntie Barbara" to many and known to all for her generosity and loving heart. Barbara is survived by her dear sister Beverly Whitham of Bristol, RI. She was a cherished aunt to Cyndi (Tim) Hale of White Plains, KY and to Kim (Eric) Jacobson of Lincoln, RI and their daughters Emily Jacobson of Allentown, PA and Lily Jacobson of Lincoln, RI. Barbara especially treasured her relationships with her cousins and their families. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Please go directly to the church for the Mass and Burial. Visiting hours will be Monday, November 28, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol.
