Mrs. Victoria G. (Catalano) Proto, age 90 of Johnson Court, Bristol, died Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home, Bristol. She was the wife of the late Alphonse A. Proto, her husband of 60 years who died in 2006. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Catalado and Guisippina (Telera) Catalano. Victoria was a production line worker for the former Carr Fulflex Corporation in Bristol for 16 years, retiring in 1968. Following her retirement she worked part time at the Hope Diner in Bristol. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society, Nocturnal Adoration Society and was a volunteer for the 16th of July Feast Celebration and the Annual Fall Bazaar for the church. She also was a member of Hope Circle # 70, Daughters of Isabella, Bristol. She is survived by two sons, Anthony V. Proto and his wife Susan of Bristol and Alphonse N. Proto and his wife Joan of Loudon, NH, two grandsons, Brian C. Proto and his wife, Lauren of Dover, NH and Scott M. Proto of Bristol and three great grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan and Keira Proto, all of Dover, NH, and a sister, Margaret Costa of Fall River, MA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Victoria Catalano and four brothers, Francis Paul, Michael, Nicola and Vincent Catalano. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Wednesday morning only at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Silver Creek Manor - Patient Activities Fund, 7 Creek Lane, Bristol, RI 02809.
