Mrs Theresa J. Proto

Mrs. Theresa J. (Del Piano) Proto, age 84 of 1 Dawn Hill Road and formerly of Hope Street, Bristol, passed away on Thursday, May 7th at St. Elizabeth's Manor. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Proto. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Placida (Malafronte) Del Piano. A 1948 graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol, she was a devoted communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of its' Rosary and Altar Society, and 16th of July Feast Committee. In 2003, she received the honor of being named chief marshal of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 16th of July parish feast. She is survived by two sons, Michael Proto of Bristol and Naples, FL and Nicholas Proto of Tiverton and Ft. Myers, FL. In adddition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Samuel and Michael Del Piano and three sisters, Angie and Dorothy Del Piano and Lucy Grabert. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, May 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
