Mrs Sarah Martin

Mrs. Sarah (Martin) Martin, age 89 of 160 Franklin Street, Bristol died peacefully Sunday, September 6, 2015 at her home. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Mary (Bettencourt) Martin. Sarah worked for American Tourister Company, formerly in Warren for over 20 years, retiring in 1976. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality at the church. Sarah is survived by two children, Joseph K. Martin (Corrine) and Elaine Roderick, both of Bristol, three grandchildren, Jamie Roderick (Kristy), Jeremy Roderick (Tiffany) and Lindsey Mello (Steven), four great grandchildren, Marissa Londyn, Bryce, and Bailey Roderick, and a brother, Joseph Martin of Middletown. She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by two sisters, Mary “Bubbles” Benevides and Helen Castro and a brother, Mariano Martin. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will be private and visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
