Mrs Philomena Puniello

Mrs. Philomena (Cupolo) Puniello, age 95, of Bristol Woods Drive, Bristol, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Grace Barker Nursing Center, Warren, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Dominick Puniello. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Nevina (Marabello) Cupolo. Phil with her daughter-in-law Bernadette ran Kiddyland Nursery preschool for 25 years, from which she derived great satisfaction and enjoyed following the progress of her former students by finding their names in the Phoenix or meeting them or their parents on the street. For many years Phil also taught CCD classes at Our lady of Mt. Carmel Church, often to alumni of Kiddyland Nursery. Phil most enjoyed being with her family on vacations, celebrating holidays and family events, or weekend meals. And to these events she brought her delicious desserts, many of them have become family standards. Phil was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothes for family and friends. Most of all, Phil was a caring and loving person who, even as a child, was there to lend a helping hand. She will be sorely missed by the many whose lives she touched. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She is survived by two sons, Carmine J. Puniello and his wife Bernadette of Bristol and Anthony J. Puniello and his wife Francoise of Highland Park, NJ, Eight grandchildren, Ann Leary (William), Beth Machado (Michael), Carmen Puniello, Dominick Puniello (Anabell), John Puniello (Kerry), Damian Puniello, Orin Puniello (Kathleen) and Jennifer Puniello. Eleven great grandchildren, her sister and best friend Sue Dias of Bristol and many wonderful nieces and nephews whom she truly loved. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death, by a brother, John Cupolo, three sisters, Theresa Costa, Rita St.Onge and Alice Cadile. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday, May 2, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
