Mrs. Muriel P. (Champagne) St. Angelo, age 84 of Duffield Road, Bristol, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol. She was the beloved wife of James G. St. Angelo, to whom she was married for 65 years. Born in Woonsocket and a Bristol resident for the past 34 years, she was a daughter of the late Horace O. and Alexina (St. Sauveur) Champagne. Prior to retiring she had been employed at the Newport Naval Hospital in Patient Administration and Decedent Affairs. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was a life member of the Bristol Fourth of July Committal and was a recipient, along with her husband, of the Hattie Brown Award for Volunteerism in 2006 and a Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society volunteer for over 9 years at the Navy Thrift Shop in Newport. Beside her loving husband, she is survived by two daughters, Patricia Laskowski (Edward) of Charlotte, NC and Donna St. Angelo of Bristol, her grandchildren, Melissa Laskowski (Mike Coffman), Alicia Laskowski and Kristin Laskowski Cramer (Dylan) all of North Carolina and First Lt. James Pepoon, US Army (Annie) of Georgia and her great-grandchildren, Michael Wayne Coffman, Lillian and Maxwell Cramer and Zoie and Marnie Pepoon. She was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Kaila E. Pepoon. Her funeral will be held from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, January 15, 2016 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope St., Bristol. Visiting hours will be Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Bristol Fourth of July Committee, P.O. Box 561, Bristol, RI 02809 (which will be used for the visiting navy ship softball tournament-picnic).
