Mrs Mary M. Karnes

Mrs. Mary M. (Cirillo)Karnes, age 89 of Ryan Avenue, Bristol, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late James Karnes. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Antonetta (Burgarelli)Cirillo. Mary was a cook at Van's Spa in Bristol for 10 years, retiring in 1994. She also worked for the former Kaiser Aluminum Chemical Corp formerly in Bristol and the Crown Fastener Company, formerly in Warren. Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society and the Nocturnal Adoration Society at the church. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Medeiros of Bristol, her two sons, James E. and Robert E. Karnes both of Bristol, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters Theresa Tangradi of Garfield, NJ, and Elvira Groff of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Michael, Anthony, Dominic, Angelo and Fred Cirillo and Frank Soignoli, four sisters, Corina Cirillo, Rose Borges, Wilhemina Marshall and Corina Matarese. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, March 14 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AMin Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM.
