Mrs. Marilore Brooks

July 20, 1920 — March 4, 2010

Marilore (Willett) Brooks, age 89, of Bristol, died March 4th at Silver Creek Manor after months of declining health. Marilore will be remembered for her outgoing personality that found an outlet as an administrative assistant at Norwich University and later in the hospitality industry in Brattleboro, VT and in Rhode Island where she moved with her second husband, the late Judge Dale Brooks. Marilores warm heart and generous nature manifested itself through many acts of kindness, especially toward children. She was a foster mother in Rhode Island for many years and received an award for her Outstanding Contribution to Rhode Island as a single foster parent in 1985. Marilore is survived by daughter, Diane C. Powers and her husband Roddy of Carlisle, MA, son, Michael C. Curtis and his companion Darlene Goodrich of Northfield, VT, daughter, Susan M. LeBlanc of Bristol, RI, and her sister Jacqueline W. Richman of Mechanicsville, VA. , and seven grandchildren, Carla Amaral and Michelle Thies, both of Warren, RI, Mark R. Powers, Saco, ME and Ellen B. Powers, Boston, MA, Nicole, Meagan and Katie LeBlanc, all of Gardner, MA, and four great grandchildren, Laura and Richard Amaral, and Ethan and Colin Theis, all in Warren, RI. In addition to Judge Brooks, she was also predeceased by her brother Giles Willett. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol, RI.
