Mrs Marie A. Manchester

Mrs. Marie A. (Pacheco) Manchester, 94 of Bristol, passed away peacefully in the company of her loving family on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 7:00 A.M. She was the wife of Arthur H. Manchester, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1987. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of Azorean immigrant parents, the late Antonio and Edwina (Souto) Pacheco. She was a simple, beautiful woman who made, in the early years, enjoyed figure skating with her husband Arthur. In later years, her family become the center of her existence. Her love and devotion to the family were etched in every action and expression of her being. Marie leaves in both sorrow in her death and joy in her life, her sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur (Jane), James (Camille), and Mark (Doreen); her grandchildren, Dionne, Liza, Clea, Mariel and Seth; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dylan and Sophia. She gave more than she received and she will be sorely missed. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Antonio Pacheco. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
