Mrs Lois W. Ricklin

Mrs. Lois (Webster) Ricklin, 90 of Bristol, died at her home on Sunday, October 28, 2012. She was the wife of Saul Ricklin, her husband of 65 years. Born on April 7, 1922 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late John Harold and Ellen (Leslie) Webster. Lois leaves behind in addition to her husband, children, Donald and wife, Leona, Leslie and husband, Jeff Wells, Ethan and wife, Susan, Roger and wife, Donna, grandchildren, Ruby Wells and husband, Jeff Schneider, Isaac Wells and wife Jaimie Ray, Sam, Julia, Alana and great granddaughter, Zeppelynne. Lois graduated with a degree in chemistry from Connecticut College for Women in 1944. She worked as a chemist at Metal and Thermit Corporation in Rahway, New Jersey where she met her husband. She also worked as a Research Assistant in Ornamental Horticulture at Rutgers University and as a Lecture Assistant in Chemistry at Brown University. She was a volunteer driver for the Red Cross Motor Service, on advisory committees at Connecticut College, and a Camp Fire Girls Leader. Lois enjoyed gardening, tennis, theater, reading and was an accomplished cook and seamstress. She was a world traveler to over 75 countries often accompanying her husband on his business trips to Japan, Europe and the Soviet Union.
