Mrs Kathy Lynn Castigliego

Kathy Lynn (Vargas) Castigliego, age 51, of Aborn Avenue, Cumberland, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Home and Hospice Care of RI, Inpatient Center, Providence after a 2 year battle with cancer with her husband by her side. Kathy was the loving wife of Raymond M. Castigliego her husband of 25 years. Born in Providence, RI was raised in Bristol and lived in PA till moving to Cumberland in 1996, she was the daughter of Mary (Coite) Vargas of Bristol and the late Joseph Vargas. Kathy worked as a stock clerk for Kohls Department Store in Smithfield, retiring in 2010 due to illness. She also had worked for Targets in Attleboro. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. She loved spending time doing crafts. Besides her loving husband and mother, she is survived by her children, Shannon Dos Santos and her husband Dennis of Rumford, Nathan Vargas of Willow Grove, PA and Nicholas M. Castigliego and his wife Alicia of Orient, ME., seven grandchildren, Krystal Dos Santos, Carolyn Castigliego, Tianna Dos Santos, Nicholas M. Castigliego, Jr., Mariyah Castigliego, Emmalyn Rae and Brielle Dos Santos and a sister, JoAnn Garcia of Bristol. Besides her father she was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Vargas, Jr. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Monday, September 19, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
