Mrs Josephine A. Sansone

Mrs. Josephine A. 'Anna' (Squatrito) Sansone, age 98 formerly of 57 St. Elizabeth Street, Bristol, died peacefully, Tuesday, January 20, 2014 at the Silver Creek Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Carmine A. Sansone, who preceded her in death in 1986. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Girolamo and Giuseppina (Bombace) Squatrito. Anna attended Bristol Schools and was a machine operator for a number of years for the former Bristol Manufacturing Company until her retirement. She worked following her retirement at Quito's Restaurant for many years, where the customers affectionately knew her as 'Aunty Anna'. Anna was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, where she was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society and a volunteer for many years for the 16th of July Feast Celebration. Anna loved to cook and spending time with her loving family. She is survived by two children, Louis F. Sansone (Emily) and Philomena A. Bisbano, both of Bristol, seven grandchildren, Ann J. Mello (Joseph), Karen Ferreira (Christopher), Larney J. Bisbano (Anne), Joanna T. Bisbano, Carla M. J. Bisbano (Elizabeth), Cynthia M. Almeida (Jay) and Tanya M. Proulx (Michael) and five great grandchildren, Louis and Christopher Ferreira, Kyle and Danielle Mello and Francesca Anne Bisbano. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Matthew, Joseph and Fortunato Squatrito. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, January 26, 2015 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Monday morning only from 9:00-10:00 AM.
