Mrs. Irene R. (Relle) Barboza, age 97 of Bristol, died peacefully Monday, January 27, 2020 at Silver Creek Manor, Bristol, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late David Barboza, her husband of 64 years, who preceded her in death in August of 2019. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Edward H. and Eva (Normandy) Relle, Sr. A graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Bristol, she was a Laboratory Technician for Lloyd Manufacturing in Warren for 20 years and previously worked at the former Carrs Manufacturing, until retiring a number of years ago. Irene was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol, and enjoyed line dancing and spending time on her computer. She was a great cook and sacrificed much for her children. She is survived by her three children, David E. Barboza, Dee Ann Netto (Marshall) and Paul S. Barboza, all of Bristol, a grandson, Aaron P. Barboza (Sha). In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John "Jack" Pimental, her brothers and sisters, Edward H. Relle, Jr., Lorraine Mello, Constance Carmone, and Earl Relle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 775, Bristol, RI 02809.
