Mrs. Ida Silva

Mrs. Ida (Silvia) Silva, age 99 of Wood Street, Bristol, died peacefully, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving children and their families. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. "Rocky" Silva, Sr., her husband of 68 years, who preceded her in death in August of 2010. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude (Perry) Silvia. A homemaker, who loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was expecting her first great great grandchild, later this year. She was proud of her home on Wood Street and enjoyed going shopping and finding bargains at local yard sales. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeths Church, Bristol. She leaves her five children, Joseph A. Silva, Jr. (Linda) of Bristol, Linda Taft (Rick) of Bristol, Rosemary Bisbano (the late Edward) of Pawtucket, Bettyann Mello (Joseph) of Bristol and Carol Dodson (Walter) of Norwich, CT., thirteen grandchildren, Stacey Branca, Lori Silva, Joseph A. Silva, III, Krista and Kelly Taft, Angela and Jennifer Bourgault, Joshua Mello, Meghan Bolduc, J.P. Mello, Andrew, Jason and Eric Dodson, seventeen great grandchildren, David Branca, Bailey and Taegan Taft, Jacob and Alan Briggs, Anthony Bisbano, Kylee Bourgault, Ethan LaScola, Cole and Sofia Bolduc, Hayden, Levi, Eva, Makenna, Talan and Greta Dodson and Rylan Mortimer. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph, Albert and Manuel Silvia and Mary Silva. Idas family would like to thank all of the nurses and caregivers at Visiting Nurses Home and Hospice of Portsmouth for their special care and love of our mom, especially Celia, Eileen, Jen, Shirley, Marlene, Marcella and all. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, October 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
