Mrs. Greta (Bartlett) Street, age 91, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 in Alamo, Texas. Greta was born in Williamsburg, NB, Canada, daughter of Robert S. and Annie (O'hara) Bartlett. At the age of eleven, she was adopted by her uncle, Frederick J. Bartlett and his wife Louisa (Brayton) Bartlett and brought to Warren, RI, where she lived until she married Henry A. Street, Jr. in 1972. Greta and Henry lived most of their lives at North Farm in Bristol, RI. Greta was preceded in death by her husband, Henry in 2005, two brothers, Carl F. Bartlett and Otto L. Bartlett and a sister, Cora (Bartlett)Scott. She leaves behind a step-mother, Eva (Dorcas) Bartlett of Fredericton, NB, three brothers, Vincent R. Bartlett of Williamsburg, NB, Robert S. Bartlett of Fredericton, NB, Ronald S. Bartlett of Alamo, Texas and a sister, Vivian (Bartlett) Coughlan of Halifax, NS, Canada, also a step-daughter, Stephanie (Street) Martin of Bristol, RI, two step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Martin) Belvin and Charles S. Martin and four step-grandchildren, Emily F. Belvin, Andrew Belvin, Charles Concannon Hunt Martin and Hope Andersen Street Martin, all of Rhode Island. Greta will be remembered by all for her gentle nature, humor, love for children and her generous donations to many worthy charities. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration of her life on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the First Congregational Church of Bristol, High Street, Bristol.
