Mrs Frances G. Scott

July 7, 1926 — December 3, 2016

Frances G. Scott, 90, of Clipper Way passed away on December 3, 2016 at Miriam Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Felix W. Scott, her “Buddy.” Born in Bristol on July 7, 1926 in the family home on Prospect Street, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Bianca (Langello) Alfano. She lived most of her life in Bristol, and lived for a short time in Barrington. Frances graduated from Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1944, and received a business degree from Bryant College. A woman of boundless energy, she took great pride in her work and held bookkeeper and office manager positions at the former Carr-Fulflex Co., Allen Distributing, AVID Corporation, and retired from Patton-MacGuyer Co. She operated office adding machines with lightning-speed, and typed faster than most people can speak. Upon her retirement, she became a bus monitor - a job she thoroughly enjoyed - and held that position well into her eighties. She enjoyed bowling, bocce, all sorts of games - especially Scrabble, was an unwavering fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, and could not resist a day-trip to a gambling casino. Frances was a communicant and active parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Virginia L. Rogers of Bristol, grandchildren Jayson D. Rogers, Sheri L. Eikenberg, and Corey D. Rogers, and great-grandchildren Jack, Leo, and Delainey. She was the mother of the late Daniel J. Scott and the sister of the late Angelina “Julia” Bisbano, Louis P. Alfano, Jr., and Josephine M. Cirillo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services Saturday, December 10, 2016 from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St. Bristol, at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut St. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 9, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM.
