Mrs Eugenia Jennie Papa

Mrs. Jennie (Carreiro) Papa, age 99, of 24 First Street, Bristol, died peacefully Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Crestwood Nursing and Convalescent Home, 568 Child Street, Warren, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Antonio R. Papa. Born in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Luis and Maria (Barboza) Carreiro. A resident of Bristol for over 30 years, she was a Warren resident for most of her life. She was a production line worker at the American Tourister Co in Warren for 15 years, retiring in 1974. She had previously worked for Bristol Manufacturing Co. and Collins and Aikman Co., both formerly in Bristol. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol. She is survived by a son, Anthony J. Papa, two daughters, Jean A. Marshall and her husband Robert, and Rosemarie Sousa, all of Bristol, five grandchildren, Anthony Papa and his wife, Lori, Christopher Papa, Gina Mota and her husband, Kevin, Robert Marshall, Jr. and Erin Marie Sousa, five great grandchildren, Christopher Papa, Joshua and Zachery Mota, Curtis Papa and Leah Jean Marshall and a great great granddaughter, Lily Jean Mota. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Andrade and Beatrice Rego and a brother, Earl Nicholson. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation on Wednesday morning only at 9:00 AM.
