Mrs Estelle C. Oliver

Mrs. Estelle C. (Vona) Oliver, age 81 of Fairview Ave., Bristol, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at the St. Elizabeth Manor, Bristol. She was the wife of Edmund D. Oliver, her husband of 44 years. Born in Providence and a lifelong resident of Bristol, a daughter of the late George and Victoria (St.Angelo) Vona. Estelle worked as a clerk for many years at the former US Rubber and Kaiser Aluminum Corp formerly in Bristol, also worked at the RI Veterans Home. Estelle was a communicant of St. Marys Church where she was also a lector and assisted in the office after daily mass, and member of the Christmas Bazaar Committee. She traveled extensively throughout the United States with her husband, to his annual Army Reunions. Estelle loved music and musical theater and was an avid theater-goer. She attended Katherine Gibbs after graduating from Colt Memorial High School Class of 1946. She was a charter member and former treasurer of the Bristol County Chorus which she joined in 1972 when it was St. Marys Concert Choir. Estelle also was a member Friends of Linden Place. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Edmund, and a brother, Paul Vona of Warwick. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol Friday at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Church “Proud to Belong Capital Campaign”, 330 Wood St., Bristol, RI 02809.
