Mrs. Emily M. (Martinelli) DiGiorgio, age 93 of 16 Gorham Place, Bristol, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Domenic DiGiorgio. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Silvio and Cristina (Venditti) Martinelli. She worked for a number of years as a fine mender for the former Collins and Aikman Co. and Converse Rubber Company, formerly in Bristol. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. A stylish dresser, she was an excellent cook and baker, loving time spent with family and friends at her home, around the table. She was firm believer of celebrating the Bristol 4th of July. Emily loved to sew and knit, traveling with her late husband when he served in the Army, she particularly enjoyed time they spent in Southern California and South Dakota. She is survived by a daughter, Rose D. Goltman and her husband John of Portsmouth, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Goltman and her husband James Colleran of Newport and a sister, Mary Silva of Worcester, MA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Albert and Oliver Diodati and a sister, Virginia Botelho. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Tuesday morning only at 9:00 AM.
