Mrs. Edith M. (Morra) Silva, age 91 of Fox Hill Avenue, Bristol, died peacefully Thursday, December 1, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Sebastian and Teresa (Vaccaro) Morra. Edith was a clerk for the Bristol Public Works office for 15 years, retiring in 1983. Edith was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and a member and past treasurer of the Rosary and Altar Society and a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society at the church. She was also a member, and a former Treasurer, financial Secretary and Auditor for Hope Circle # 70, Daughters of Isabella, Bristol. She was a member of the Bristol Senior Center and the Harbor Lights Group at St. Mary's Church and the Red Hat Society. She will be remembered for the love of her children, her church and cats as well as her enjoyment of gardening, baking, line dancing and crocheting. She is survived by five children, Eileen S. Ronning and her husband Jim, of Maple Grove, MN, Frank S. Silva and his wife Patty of Portsmouth, Steven J. Silva of New York City, TerriAvila and her husband Martin of Bristol and Nancy Jeanne Silva of Paradise, CA, six grandchildren, Todd Silva, Brian Henry, Dustin Avila, Alex Debord, Jocelyn Avila and Dominique Debord and a great granddaughter, Tijae Silva, a brother, Sebastian Paul Morra of Akron, OH and her beloved cat, Duchess. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, George, Frank and Antonio Morra and two sisters, Nancy Caromile and Jennie Minardi. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitinig hours will be Monday, December 5 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
