Mrs. Dolores (Ferreira) Manchester, age 76, of St. Elizabeth Street, Bristol, died Friday, January 28, 2011 in Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Daniel T. Manchester, Jr. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary Gloria (Martin) Ferreira. She worked in the cutting room for the former Bristol Manufacturing Company, Bristol for 20 years, retiring in 1968. Dolores was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church and was an avid crocheter and baker, well known for the many wedding cakes she made over the years. She is survived by a daughter, Nettie V. Lima and her husband Raul of Bristol, a son, Daniel T. Manchester, III of Bristol, three grandchildren, Desiree Larson, Raul P. and Shaun M. Lima, four great grandchildren, Erin D. and William S. Larson, Aidan M. and Rylee M. Lima, and a brother, Delphine Ferreira of Warren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, her twin Dorothy Cushman, Maria Barboza and Virginia Garcia. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
