Mrs. Clara M. Pirri

Mrs. Clara "Claire" M. (DeTora) Pirri, age 95 of 25 Annawamscutt Drive, Bristol and formerly of Manning Drive, East Providence for many years, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Silver Creek Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Philip A. Pirri, her husband of 33 years, who preceded her in death in April of 1977. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Palmino and Liberina (DeSimone) DeTora. She was a waitress for over 35 years for the former Club 400 in West Warwick and a sales clerk at the former U-turn Consignment Shop in Barrington for many years, retiring many years ago. Claire loved spending time with family, especial her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and traveling with family to Florida and Casino trips. She is survived by three children; Antonette Pontes (Arthur) and Angelo J. Pirri (the late Cheryl A.) both of Bristol and Philip A. Pirri, Jr. (Helen) of Cranston, ten grandchildren; Alicia Schiller (Howard), Keri Salinger, Arthur P. Pontes (Aleia), Beth Ann Mantia, Angelo J. Pirri, Jr. (Julie), Jessica DeCiantis, Anthony DeCiantis, Erika Pirri, Talia Pirri and Lori Light, seventeen great grandchildren, and a sister, Millie Balzano of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Vera Rega and Mary Cataldo and brothers, Andrew, Albert, Angelo and Domenic DeTora. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, June 2 at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Anns Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours, Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 4:00 8:00 PM.
