Mrs. Claire R. (Barlow) Balzano, age 80 of 65 DeWolf Avenue, Bristol, died Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Warren. She was the wife of the late Thomas G. 'Crow'Balzano, her husband of 55 years who died in 2005. Born and raised in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Samuel W. and Florence (Ashworth) Barlow. She was a resident of Bristol for many years. A homemaker, she worked for several years at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra E. McCaughey and her husband, Barry of Tiverton, Eleanor D. Normandin and Rose A. Cicero, both of Bristol, six grandchildren, Tammy J. Tedeski, Thomas J. Dugan, Jason C. McCaughey, Sarah N. and Michael J. Normandin and Matthew C. Cicero and three great grandchldren, Thomas J. and Tess J. Dugan and Kelsea E. Tedeski, two brothers, Raymond Barlow and his wife, Sue of Florida and Kenneth J. Barlow and his wife Noreen of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert W. and Chester Barlow. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
