Mrs Catherine Diodati

Mrs. Catherine (Aiello) Diodati, age 99 of 187 Mount Hope Avenue, Bristol, died Monday, February 27, 2012, the day before her 100th birthday, in Newport Hospital, Newport, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Harry Diodati. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Irene (Bifaro) Aiello. Mrs. Diodati was a textile worker for the former Bristol Manufacturing Co. and the Converse Rubber Co., formerly in Bristol for 50 years, retiring in 1973. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. Catherine will be remembered as a wonderful cook, with a great love for family, and loved dancing, especially to 'Big Band' era music. She is survived by a daughter, Carmella L. 'Millie'DiSano and her husband James, who she had made her home with, three granddaughters, Stephanie Blair and her husband Paul of Warren, Lisa A. Grimo and her husband Pasquale and Gina C. DiSano, all of Bristol and four great grandchildren, Christopher J. and Carl P. Grimo, Paul S. Blair, Jr. and Kathryn E. Blair. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary DiSalvo, Carmella 'Millie'Valerio, Florence M. Aiello and a brother, James Aiello. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, March 2, 2012 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Friday morning only at 9:00 AM.
