Mrs. Brenda R. Austin

Mrs. Brenda R. (Hampston) Austin, 71 of 22 Burton Street, Bristol, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Austin, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1991. Born and raised in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late James and Alice (Brightman) Hampston. A resident of Bristol for over 50 years, Brenda was a substance abuse counselor for the Fall River Alcoholism Council for over 20 years, retiring in 2006. She was a life member of the Bristol 4th of July Committee and was an animal lover. She is survived by her three children; Amanda OBrien and Edward A. Austin, III, both of Bristol and Peter J. Austin of Fall River, MA, a grandson; Austin James OBrien of Bristol. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Siobhan Austin, and three siblings; James E. Hampston, Jr., Jane F. Souza and Peter R. Hampston. Funeral services and burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
