Mrs. Barbara A. (Campanella) Booth, of Hope Street, Bristol, died peacefully Sunday, March 25, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Lyle P. Booth, her husband of 60 years. Born in Providence and a lifelong Bristol resident, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Wylie) Campanella. Barbara was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1947 and Bryant College, Class of 1949. She worked for several years at the former Industrial National Bank branch in Warren. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and she taught C.C.D. for 17 years at St. Marys Church. She was a member of the Bristol Historical Society and Linden Place. She was a volunteer for many years for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed gardening as a hobby and well known for making and giving her famous marshmello fudge to family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children; Susan E. Booth (Barbara) of North Kingstown and Samuel L. Booth (Patty) of Bristol, two grandchildren; Abbigale E. Booth and Aaron S. Booth and a sister, Elizabeth Hamel of Warren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Warren and Samuel Campanella and a sister, Constance Byrnes. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, April 2, 2018 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Monday morning only starting at 9:00 AM.
