With heartfelt sorrow and the deepest sympathy we announce the passing of a Matriarch - Ann Steadman Lombardo, age 61 of Bristol, died Tuesday at the Roger Williams Medical Center after a ten month battle with an incurable disease. She was the wife of the late Charles T. “Chuck” Lombardo, III, together former owners and operators of Sansone Funeral Home, Bristol, for over 20 years. Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of Norman Steadman of Westerly and the late Nancy M. (Rathbun) Steadman. She was the mother of Graham Lombardo and his wife Rebecca, of Maynard, MA, Matthew Lombardo and his wife Jaclyn Sousa, of Brooklyn, NY, Drew Lombardo and his wife Stacey, of Bristol, and Hannah Lombardo, of Tampa, FL, her pride and joy, grandson, Charles T. “Charlie” Lombardo, IV, her brothers and sister, Jeffrey Steadman and his wife, Alisa, of Bristol, Timothy Steadman, of Brockton, MA, Cynthia Crandall and her husband John, of Charlestown, Andrew Steadman, of Bristol and nephew, Jacob Steadman. Ann was a graduate of Westerly High School, Class of 1972 and she received her Bachelors Degree from Providence College. She worked for New York Life in their Providence office for the past seven years as a licensed broker, lastly as a Contract Specialist. She was a sports enthusiast and a lover of walking, boating, traveling, gardening, baking, cooking, animals and friends. She had served as an officer of the Bristol Youth Soccer Association, a past board member for the Bristol Parks and Recreation Dept. and a past member of the Bristol Yacht Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Visitation Friday, November 6 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. There is no visitation Saturday morning before the Mass.
