Mr William Silvia

William 'Billy' Silvia - Avid Hunter and Fisherman Mr. William 'Billy' Silvia, of Bristol age 83 died on Saturday March 30, 2013. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Palma) Silvia. William was born in Fall River MA and was a lifelong resident of Bristol, a son of the late Joseph Silvia and Mary (DeMilio) Alves. Billy was an oil burner installer for the Sunshine Oil Company until 1979. He then was a maintenance manager for Raytheon Corp. Billy was also a plumber and owner of Interior Design Plumbing & Bath for over 40 years. He will always be remembered as a kind, humble, and generous individual. The wonderful values he lived his life by were bestowed upon his 3 children. He was a communicant of St Marys Church, a member of the Bristol Rod & Gun Club and Ducks unlimited. He is survived by three children, William Gordon Silvia of Prudence Island, Mary Ellen Gelinas and her husband Timothy of Narragansett, and Joseph Karl Silvia and his wife Stephany of Bristol, eight grandchildren, Billy Gordon Silvia Jr., Brad Silvia, Nicole Silvia, Peter Silvia, Corey Silvia, Robert Gelinas, Matthew Gelinas, and Daniel Gelinas and six great grandchildren. He was also survived by a sister Eileen Botelho and a brother Joseph Silvia both of Bristol. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Roger Alves. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Friday, April 5, 2013 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Thursday April 4, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
