Mr. William F. Conley, age 91 of 52 Ridge Road, Bristol, died Monday, November 4, 2013 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Black) Conley, his wife of 64 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late James E. and Rose (Brown) Conley. He was a watch engineer for the Narragansett Electric Company in Providence for 40 years, retiring a number of years ago. He was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theater, participating in battles in Northern Solomons at Bougainville, Guam, Marianas Islands and Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Bristol and a life member of the Bristol County Lodge of Elks, the American Legion, and the Bristol Highland Beach Association. An avid Sportsman, he loved spending time hunting and fishing at his camp in Maine for many years. Bill had a great love of history, he had a remarkable memory for details and loved to share his knowledge of growing up in Bristol, and his experiences in the Marine Corps in the Pacific during World War II and the outdoors. He is survived in addition to his wife by four children, William F. Conley, Jr. and his wife, Anna, Thomas M. Conley, all of Bristol, Jayne E. Jamiel and her husband Francis of Warren and Patricia A. Lamb of Kennebunk, Maine and seven grandchildren, Rebecca J. Harden, Michaella F. Dziedzic, Elizabeth F., Alexandra F and Victoria F. Jamiel, Robert J. and Catherine M. Conley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Conley, Jr, and seven sisters, Rose, Helen and Mary Conley, Dorothy Nissen, Elizabeth Dodge, Nellie Gray, and Esther Carlage. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday, November 8, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
