Mr. Warner H. Tabor, age 88, of 12 Sunnyside Avenue, Bristol, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Anita C. (Marsan) Tabor. Born in Burlington, VT, he was a son of the late George and Bella (Martell) Tabor. A resident of Bristol for 58 years, he previously resided in Uxbridge, MA. He was a graduate of WPI in Worcester, MA with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served his country in the US Merchant Marines during WWII in the Atlantic Ocean. He was a mechanical engineer for the former Premier Thread Co., formerly in Bristol for 30 years, retiring in 1984. He had previously worked for Whiten's Machine and Dixon Corp. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Bristol and a member of the Bristol Rotary Club. He is survived by seven children; Warner H. 'Buzz' Tabor, Jr. and his wife Judy, Marlene A. Tabor and Paul E. Tabor and his wife Mary Beth, and Mary E. Tormey, all of Bristol, Carl J. Tabor and his wife Joyce of North Berwick, ME, Mark L. Tabor and his wife Jan of Seekonk, MA and Peter P. Tabor and his wife Colleen of Camirillo, CA., twenty-seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
