Mr Valentino Alessandro

Mr. Valentino Alessandro, 100, of High Street, Bristol, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011 at his home. He was the husband of Colette 'Clara' (DeLeo) Alessandro, his wife of 75 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Santo and Maria (Martinelli) Alessandro. Valentino was a supervisor for Kaiser Aluminum and the former U.S. Rubber Co., before retiring. He was also a barber. He was a life member of the Bristol County Knights of Columbus Council # 379, the La Bella Sicilia Society, both Bristol and a soloist at OurLady of Mount Carmel Church for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Sandy Alessandro and Robert Alessandro, both of Bristol and Anne M. Famiglietti of North Kingstown and a granddaughter, Ariane B. Famiglietti. He was brother of the late Eda Floria, Sebastian and Edward Alessandro. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol. Visitation will be Saturday morning only from 9:00-10:00 AM.
