Mr Stephen L. Mascena

Mr. Stephen L. Mascena, age 100, formerly of Fox Hill Avenue, Bristol, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Orchard View Manor, East Providence, RI. He was the husband of the late Emily (Proto) Mascena. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Antonio and Nunziata (Russo) Mascena. He was a Foreman and Superintendent for many years for the former Carr Fulflex Co. and former Collins and Aikman Co. He attended Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, he was a founding member of the Cup Defenders Association, he was a life member of the Bristol Council # 379, Knights of Columbus and the Bristol County Lodge of Elks # 1860 and was a member of the La Bella Sicilia Society and the Leonardo Da Vinci Lodge, Sons of Italy, a member of the AARP and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. He served the town of Bristol for a number of years as a member of the Board of Canvassers. Stephen was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. He is survived by three children, Nancy Josephs (John) of Barrington, Anthony J. Mascena (Jill) of Cherry Hill, NJ and Stephen W. Mascena (Marcia) of Warwick, a sister, Carmela M. 'Millie' Turcotte of Portsmouth and a brother, Angelo 'Macy' Mascena of Bristol, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 8:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation will be Tuesday morning only at 8:30 AM.
