Mr. Ronald N. Carota, age 67 of Hampden Road, Bristol, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the VA Regional Medical Center, Providence. He was the husband of Dianne A. (Albro) Carota, his wife of 40 years. Born in Bronx, New York, a son of the late Alfred and Katherine (Jacovino) Carota. He was a resident of Bristol for the past 17 years, previously residing in California. He served in the US Army as a Specialist 4th Grade, receiving the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two overseas bars. He was an engineer for the Reed-Rico Company formerly in Bristol for over 20 years, retiring in 2000. Ronald was an avid New York Yankee fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children; Michael Wanamaker (Toni) of Maybrook, NY, Craig Wanamaker of Bristol, Kevin Wanamaker (Dawn) and Jamie Carota, both of New Windsor, NY, and Nicole Carota of Bristol, eight grandchildren; Michael, Nicholas, Kevin, Hailey and Brianna Wanamaker, Emmaline, Cole and Parker Carota and a sister, Debbie Thornby of Bisbee, AZ. Funeral Services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Visiting hours Monday, April 17, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
