Roland H. Cook, age 76, of Highland Road, Bristol, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at his home. He was the loving husband Frances E. (Terra) Cook, his wife of 56 years. Born in Providence, he lived in Warren before moving to Bristol 47 years ago, he was a son of the late Roland H. and Alice (Pevin) Cook. Roland owned and operated Cook's Overhead Doors in Bristol for many years. Roland was a life member and past president in 1996-1997 of the Bristol Rotary, where he attained perfect attendance for 43 years, he was honored twice with as a Paul Harris Fellow, and was greatly loved and respected by this fellow Rotarians. He also was a member Bristol County Lodge of Elks # 1860, he was an avid golfer, and much enjoyed Boating and Fishing, he was very lind and generous and very much admired. But his favorite time spent was time with his loving family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Christopher Cook and his wife, Karen and Scott T. Cook of all of Bristol, and Amy E. Fitzgerald and her husband, Kevin of Portsmouth, five grandchildren, Ashley E. Cook, Benjamin A. Cook, James A. Cook, II, Ella F. Fitzgerald and Jack Fitzgerald, two step-grandchildren, Meghan and Katarina . Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James A. 'Jimmy' Cook. Visiting hours were held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 and services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Rotary, P.O.
