Mr. Robert E. Froncillo

Robert E. Froncillo, 78, of Bristol, RI died peacefully on May 24th at his home surrounded by his family. He was married to Eleanor (Antonelli) Froncillo for 51 years. Throughout his married life, Bob was a loving husband and wonderful father. He will be dearly missed. Born in Providence, Bob was a son of the late Salvatore and Elide (Pernini) Froncillo and lived in Bristol for over 40 years, wintering in Weston, Florida since retiring. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy and a 1953 graduate of Brown University with a degree in Engineering. He attended the Navy Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI and served for three years in the US Navy as a Division Officer aboard a Destroyer. Following his naval service, he began his career at Raytheon, working as an engineer and a program manager on various electronics systems and submarine combat systems. For many years, Mr. Froncillo served as a lector at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol. He was a former member of the Bristol Yacht Club and had a lifelong love of the sea. He enjoyed sailing and playing golf during his retirement. Besides his wife, he leaves four children, Christine Raulli and husband Richard Raulli of Portsmouth, RI, LCDR Steven Froncillo USN (Ret) and wife Tracy of Chesapeake, VA, CAPT Robert Froncillo, Jr USNR (Ret) and wife Nathalie of Barrington, RI, Lynn Reyes and husband Oscar Reyes of Weston, FL, and ten wonderful grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Anthony and Renato Froncillo and a sister Evelyn Petronella Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street in Bristol, RI. Burial with military honors will follow in The Cremation Garden at North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 M0ain St., Providence, RI 02904 or the American Parkinson Disease Association, RI Chapter, P.O. Box 41659, Providence, RI 02940.
