Mr. Richard P. Glazier, age 86 of Colonial Road, Bristol, died peacefully Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the RI Veterans Home, Bristol surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Doris R. (Gendron) Glazier, his wife of 63 years. Born in Natick, MA, he was a son of the late Charles F. and Mary Louise (Desplaines) Glazier. A resident of Bristol for 33 years, he previously resided in Portsmouth, Florida and Massachusetts. He served during WWII in the US Army and also during the Korean War in the US Air Force as an Airman First Class. Richard was a purchasing agent for Globe Industries of Lincoln, RI for 15 years, retiring in 1989. He had previously been a Hardware Buyer for NHD stores. Following his retirement, he owned and operated Harbor Wicks and Gifts on State Street in Bristol for twelve years. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church, Bristol. He is survived in addition to his wife by two sons, David M. Glazier and his wife, Mary of Bristol and Gregory P. Glazier of Riverside, a sister-in-law, Carole Glazier of Newport and also by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Brian C. and Stephen T. Glazier and two brothers, Charles and Robert Glazier. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM in St. Marys Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
