Mr. Ralph F. Formisano, Jr.

Mr. Ralph F. Formisano, Jr., age 82 of Bristol, died Friday, December 29, 2017 at the VA Regional Medical Center, Providence. Born and raised in Bristol and a resident of Warren most of his life, returning to Bristol after his retirement, a son of the late Ralph F. and Sadie (Matrone) Formisano. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. A Chef, he owned and operated the former Old Venice Restaurant in Warren for over 25 years, turning the restaurant over to his son in 1991. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Ralph loved being on the water and boating for many years. He is survived by four children; Cathy Jean Vargas of Faial, the Azores, Ralph Formisano of Port St. Lucie, FL., Frank Formisano of Rumford, Maine and Ann E. Castigliego of Bristol, thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters; Mary Jean Sylvaria and Rose Marie Carreiro, both of Bristol. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Frank Formisano, Sr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted and kindly omit flowers.
