Mr. Peter E. Drolet, age 84 of 36 Greenway Drive, Bristol, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Crestwood Nursing and Convalescent Home, 568 Child Street, Warren, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Gloria V. (Smith) Drolet, his wife of 61 years who died this past December. Born in Quebec, Canada and raised in Warren, he was a son of the late Victor T. and Florida (Fournier) Drolet. He attended Warren High School and served in the US Army as a private first class during WWII in the 32nd Corps Artillery Battery. He was the Parts Manager for the former Asselin Chevrolet on Child Street, Warren for 38 years and worked for 8 years in the physical plant dept. of Roger Williams University, retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of the BristolCounty Lodge of Elks 1860, Bristol and was the Elk of the Year in 1983. He was a past president and member of the New England Chevrolet Parts Managers Asssociation and a volunteer for many years at the Columban Fathers Summer Bazaar. He was an avid Red Sox and NE Patriot Fan. He is survived by four children, Lynn A. Perry and her husband, Alan, Paul W. Drolet and his wife Mary Lou, Mark E. Drolet and Michael T. Drolet and his wife, Julie, all of Bristol, eight grandchildren, Diane M. Nappi and her husband Dave, Denise M. Towsley and her husband, Gregg, April L. Gill, Matthew J. Drolet, Nicole R. Costa and her husband, Nicholas, Scott E., Devon A. and Marcelle H. Drolet, four great grandchildren, Samantha L. and Cam N. Nappi, Sayler L. and Morgan R. Towsley. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Walmsley. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Mary's Church, 330 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Firemen's Memorial and Welfare Committee, P.O.
