Mr. Olin Leroy Reavis, age 84 of Kingswood Road, Bristol, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, Bristol, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Emily (Stanzione) Reavis, his wife of 62 years. Born and raised in Winston Salem, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Benjamin Olin and Lelia (Allgood) Reavis. Olin served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Hazelwood. A resident of Bristol for 62 years, he was a foreman for the Pearson Yachts formerly in Bristol and then for Gurman Allies formerly in Portsmouth for 38 years before retiring. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol and an usher at the Sunday 7:30 AM Mass for many years. Olin loved spending time with his family, working in his gardens and going Antiquing with his wife and brother-in-law, Paul Stanzione. He rarely missed any sports game of first his children and then his grandchildren, always their favorite fan. He was an avid NE Patriots fan. He is survived in addition to his wife, a son, Richard O. Reavis (Hillary) of Warren and he was the father of the late Emily Lela Laber (Todd), five grandchildren; Natasha Sorrentino (Robert), Angelica Laber and Zachary Laber, Dalton O. Reavis and Alexandria S. Reavis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sister, William, Brice and Theda. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours Friday, November 4, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
