Mr Nicholas M. Puniello

Mr. Nicholas M. Puniello, of Kingswood Road, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Ann (St. George) Puniello. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Carmine and Anna (Zampini) Puniello. He was a Dental Repair Technician for Health Co. in Warwick for many years before retiring. He was a US Navy Veteran of WW II. A communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bristol and also was a member of the Cup Defenders Association in Bristol. He is survived by his three sons, Nicholas J. Puniello of Boston, Michael S. Puniello of Pembroke, MA and Paul A. Puniello of Bristol, five granddaughters, a sister Mary Puniello of Lantana, FL and a brother Frank Puniello of Bristol. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Domenic, John and Felix Puniello. Funeral services were from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Tuesday, November 8, 2011 with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. The Rev. Stephen J. Dandendeau was the Celebrant-Homilist for the Mass, readers were Jennifer and Nicole Puniello, Joseph and John Cintolo presented the Offertory Gifts, and Stephen Romano was the Organist-Soloist for the Mass. Burial with Military Honors by the US Navy and Rhode Island Air National Guard followed in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol, where Father Dandendeau read the Committal Prayers. The following served as pallbearers, Jack A. Puniello, Joseph A. and John P. Cintolo, David Accardi, James Sousa and Joseph 'Mark'Squatrito. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 775, Bristol, RI 02809.
