Mr Louis J. Chirico

Mr. Louis J. Chirico, age 86 of 14 Briarfield Road, Barrington, died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. Born and raised in Bristol, he was a son of the late Louis and Carmella (Cosentino) Chirico. Mr. Chirico was a resident of Barrington for 40 years, previously residing in Bristol. Louis served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was a supervisor for the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corp in both their former Bristol and Portsmouth Plants retiring in 1981 after 41 years. He had previously worked for the former USRubber Co., in Bristol. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. He was a social member of the Ever Ready Engine & Hose Co. No. 2 of the Bristol Volunteer Fire Department and a member for many years of the Cup Defender Association in Bristol. He is survived by a son, Richard T. Chirico of Lindsay, California, a brother-in-law, Bernard L. Tortorice of Barrington, two nephews, Lewis B. Tortorice of Barrington and Dr. Bernard M. Tortorice, MD of Sarasota, FL and three great nephews and niece, Bryan L., Bernard R. and Christine Marie Tortorice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosemarie Tortorice and Anne J. Chirico. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Monday, March 12, 2012 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 2:00-5:00 PM.
