Mr Lawrence G. Farnsworth

Mr. Lawrence G. “Larry” Farnsworth, age 62, of 41 Franklin Street, Bristol died Thursday, February 3, 2011 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Hilda (Drummond) Pike-Farnsworth, his wife of three years. Born in Tupper Lake, NY and raised in Linden, NJ, he was the son of the late Lauren John and Marie (Germanio) Farnsworth. A resident of Bristol for 14 years, he previously resided in Middletown and Newport. He retired from US Navy in 1989 as a Petty Officer First Class serving for 20 years during the Vietnam War era and his last assignment was on the USS Capodanno. Following his retirement he worked in the Maintenance Department of Newport Hospital for 20 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Marie Shaffer of Arizona, Michael Farnsworth of New Jersey, Jessica Farnsworth of Maine and Johnathan Farnsworth in RI, four step-children, Michael Poissant, Adam and Matthew Cahoon and Kimberly Pike and six grandsons, Matthew and Christopher Rogers, Eli and Ethan Shaffer, Lucas Farnsworth and Joseph Schnitzler. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service Monday, February 7, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol.
