Mr Joseph F. Negro

Mr. Joseph F. Negro, age 95 of Greylock Road, Bristol, died Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home, following an unexpected illness. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. (Estrella) Negro, his wife of 61 years, who preceded him in death in January of 2017. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Giuseppina (Fama) Negro. Joe was a millwright for the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation at both of their Bristol and Portsmouth Plants for 41 years until retiring. Following his retirement Joe worked for Halspar in Bristol for several years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol. He loved working around his home, tinkering with items needing repairs and even re-engineering things to make them work better than ever. A true patriarch of his family, he loved spending time with his children and their families, always excited to be with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by three children, Joseph Negro (the late Maria) of Bristol, Virginia Allen (David) of Moosup, CT, and Richard Negro of Franklin, MA, seven grandchildren, Chad Lambert (Crystal Lee), Kelly Allen-Kujawski (Nathaniel), Michelle Negro, Faith Negro, Allison Sullivan (Kirby), Agnes and Vanessa Negro, and four great grandchildren, Bennett Bush, Ethan and Nora Kujawski and Linsey Sullivan. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, the late Sebastian Bucky Negro, the late Rev. Carmelo Negro, C.S., and the late Antonino Negro. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol. Visitation Saturday morning only at 9:30 AM.
