Mr. Joseph Anthony St. George, age 88, of 11 Gorham Place, Bristol, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Silver Creek Manor Nursing Home, 7 Creek Lane, Bristol. He was the husband of Helen(Tavares) St. George, his wife of 65 years. Born in Bristol and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Tindaro and Rosaria (Lopresti) San Giorgio. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. St. George was an electrician and the owner and operator of King and St. George Electrical Contractors formerly in Bristol on Hope Street for 50 years, retiring in 1991. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Bristol where he was the Chief Marshal for the 16th of July Feast Celebration in 1973 and served as the chairman of the Feast Committee in 1964, 1974 and 1975 and for years volunteered his electrician skills in providing the lights and electricity to the Feast Gounds on the Bristol Town Common and he was also a member of the former Holy Name Society at the church. He was a member of the La Bella Sicilia Society of Bristol, the ITAM's also in Bristol and a former member of the 4th of July Committee. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Gail Ann Calouro and her husband, John of Kennisaw, Georgia, a son, Thomas A. St. George and his wife Ana of Bristol, three grandchildren, Jeffrey M. Calouro of Georgia, Melissa Ann Pacheco and her husband Greg and Kelsey A. St. George and a sister, Mary Cintolo, all of Bristol. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Alessandro and Ann Puniello. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours, Tuesday, April 10 from 4:00-7:00 PM.
