Mr. Joseph E. Botelho, age 60 of Jackson Avenue, Riverside and formerly of Bristol, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the husband of Carol (Davis) Botelho, his wife of 33 years. Born in Providence and raised in Bristol, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Delores M. (Barrett) Botelho. Joseph served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. A Marine Welder, he worked for the past seven years for NE Boats in Portsmouth, retiring in August 2016 due to illness. He had previously worked for many of the areas Boat Builders. He loved sailing his catamaran in our area waters, was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading. He loved time spent with family and friends and especially his granddaughter Autumn. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joshua Botelho of Riverside and a daughter, Cirocco "Cheri" Botelho (Thomas Lima) of West Warwick, his granddaughter, Autumn Lily Lima, two sisters, Diana B. Campbell (the late Donald W.) and Terri Moreira (James), all of Bristol and a brother, E. Robert Botelho of St. Maarten Island and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation in celebration of his life on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol. Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Hospice and Pallative Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
