Mr Jose M. Daponte

Mr. Jose M. DaPonte, 75 of Bristol, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the KentHospital, Warwick. He was the husband of the late Grace (Costa)DaPonte. Born in the Azores a son of the late Augusto and Maria (Moniz)DaPonte. A Bristol resident for most of his life, living in Pawtucket for 7 years. Jose worked at American Insulated Wire and previously at Carol Cable in Warren He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol and Jose loved gardening, fishing and working on cars; but mostly spending time with his family and grandchildren. Jose is survived by his two daughters, Anna P. DeLeo and her husband Steven of Warwick and Maria Roy and her husband Joseph of Sevierville, TN., nine grandchildren; Tracy, Samantha, Jacob, Ashley, Sarah, Cody, Caleb, Kayla and Levi and one great grandchild Octavian. He also has three brothers, Gil DaPonte of Bristol and Humberto DaPonte of East Providence and the late William DaPonte of Rehoboth; two sisters, Gloria Melo of Vancouver, Canada and Laura DaPonte of the Azores. Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William DaPonte. Funeral services from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, Saturday, April 14 at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AMin St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
